Who we are
Organic is a Hammond Organ Quartet in the style of the great
American soul jazz combos of the 60s. They play grooves, funk, swing and
standards. Organic is about fun and energy combined with high standards of
musicianship. Think of Lonnie Smith, Lou Donaldson and other masters playing
blues and soul drenched jazz.
John-Paul Gard – Hammond Organ
John-Paul is well known on the British jazz circuit. He is
influenced by players such as Jimmy Smith and Jack McDuff, as well as modern burners
like Joey DeFrancesco. A great musician who can make the Hammond B3 organ sing,
wail and moan.
Dominic Norcross – Tenor and Baritone Saxophone
Dominic is a regular on the jazz scene and has shared the
stage with Dave Weckl, Mornington Locket, and Don Weller, to name a few. Digby
Fairweather has compared his playing to that of Zoot Sims.
Nigel Williams – Drums
Nigel played for Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames for a
number of years and has toured North America drumming for Van Morrison. He has
played with the likes of Guy Barker, George Melly, Red Rodney, Herb Ellis, Harry "Sweets" Edison and many others.
Johnny Davies – Guitar
Johnny has played support to Digby Fairweather and Don
Weller, and recently played with Dominic’s quartet at the Brecon Jazz Festival,
Birmingham Jazz festival and North Devon Jazz Festival. He has played in bands
at major clubs such as the 100 Club in London and is a regular at Cardiff’s
Café Jazz.
All members of Organic are experienced players with a great
feel for the music. Guaranteed to raise a smile and to provide the audience
with a passionate but swinging performance.
